Brendan Hughes

Chairman & Founder

Brendan, originally from County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, arrived in America in 1971 as an experienced carpenter. He quickly made a name for himself in the vibrant New York City construction scene of the 70s and 80s, working on projects like Studio 54 and various bars and restaurants, earning a reputation for his exceptional work ethic.

In 1989, Brendan founded Hughes & Hughes, focusing on building long-term client relationships. Over the past 30 years, most of H&H's projects have been with repeat clients, many of whom have been with the company for over a decade. Notable long- term clients include The Archdiocese of New York, Estée Lauder, and the Wildlife Conservation Society. Under Brendan's leadership, Hughes & Hughes has also successfully managed Hughes Asbestos Abatement and BJS&M Custom Millwork.

Brian Hughes

Chief Executive Officer

Brian Hughes is a seasoned Construction and Real Estate Professional with extensive expertise in both fields. After graduating with a Finance degree from Villanova in 2002, he began his career at UBS in financial services before shifting his focus to construction and real estate. Over the past 18 years, Brian has excelled in construction management and real estate development. In 2020, he rejoined Brendan at Hughes & Hughes.
 

Before returning to H&H, Brian spent over four years at Hudson Meridian Construction Group, where he advanced to Project Executive, leading successful projects like the $60M Saint David’s School and the award-winning $55M renovation at 21 Clark Street. He also contributed to the $100M Marriott St. Regis condominium project in Rye, NY. Prior to Hudson Meridian, Brian honed his skills at Shawmut Design and Construction and Richter & Ratner, working on notable projects such as Riverdale Country School, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the Capital One North Pavilion Lobby.

Vytas Sipas

President & COO

With over 25 years in the construction industry, Vytas possesses comprehensive expertise in construction and project management, specializing in residential projects valued between $896M and $32M. His experience spans various sectors, including institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, cultural, core and shell, renovations, and retail. As a key liaison for owners and architects, Vytas oversees daily construction operations, ensuring project success.
 

His role involves full accountability for projects, including contract negotiations, cost controls, business development, risk management, and team supervision. Vytas, along with Brian, completed the Saint David’s School project—a prestigious independent school on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. This project, which transformed three six-story townhouses and a historic hotel into a modern educational facility, was finished on schedule for the 2018 school year.

Peter Provenza

General Superintendent 

Peter Provenza first collaborated with Vytas and Brian on the acclaimed Saint David’s project. With over 20 years of experience in New York City’s commercial construction sector, Peter is a skilled construction superintendent. He has managed numerous high-profile projects, demonstrating his ability to handle complex schedules, budgets, and teams effectively. His strengths include coordinating with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth communication and collaboration throughout the construction process. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety, Peter has built a strong reputation for excellence in the industry and remains dedicated to surpassing client expectations.

Brandon Reiter

Director of Finance

Brandon graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Finance and Entrepreneurship in 2016. He began his career working for Fitch Ratings and JP Morgan Chase, where he obtained his Series 6 & 63 license. In 2023, he received his master’s degree in accounting (MSA) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While obtaining his MSA, he founded his own consulting practice, Skyview CFO, where he assisted dozens of small businesses with their financial operations and was named Alumni Entrepreneur of the month by his alma mata, Syracuse. In 2022, Brandon began consulting for Hughes & Hughes, and now serves as the company’s Director of Finance & Accounting.
